This picture was made in 1988 or 1989. Railway worked hard, a new (fortunately never finished) hydroelectric station was being built 12 km eastern in Nagymaros, stone was transported there by rail from Márianosztra.

This picture was taken by József Guba on the summer of 1988 or 1989 when 5 Mk48s and 3 C 50s worked on this narrow gauge. We can see Mk48 2020 in front of the depot, this loco is exhibited in Dombrád now. An empty freight train is waiting for departure by Mk48 2023 in the center, and we can see Mk48 2024 at the background. Traffic stopped on 22.12.1992 when the new owner of the stone mine voted for road traffic. Vehicles were transported from Szob in 1994, Mk48s went to Nyíregyháza and Kecskemét, C 50s to the childrens railway of Budapest and to Slovakia, most of the waggons were scrapped, survivers went to other railways (Balatonfenyves, Kecskemét, Nyíregyháza, Csömödér, LÁEV, Èierny Balog, Jindøichùv Hradec, etc.). Some vehicles arrived in Szob again on 20.02.2008. This railway will operate again, they plan to start in the end of April but it transports tourists without stone.
