Remotorized C50 in Gemenc

Two C50 locomotives got a full reconstuction in Budapest. The first unit has arrived at depot Pörböly on 22.12.2009. The shape of the engine became absolutely different, it got a new driver cab at the end of the body. The first reactions of the enthusiastics are negative, they usually said this loco is a little green monster.

Locomotives got a new motor (their power is 110 kW) and air pressure brake system. The driver cab is air conditioned. The driver cab is bigger than the original. Forestry Railway of Gemenc needs enough space there for travelling of six people around the driver. The second locomotive will have a bit smaller cab but the maximal speed would be a bit higher. The first locomotive has arrived at 22.12.2009, the second will arrive at the spring of 2010.
