Szob-Márianosztra line has started

The two years ago rebuilt Szob-M�rianosztra line has started on 18.07.2009. Altough the track has been ok for two years they haven't been able to start because they haven't been able to apply for an official safety certification.

This safety certification means about 4 000 000 HUF cost (about 14 150 EUR) in a year. This is the reason why none of the Hungarian narrow gauge railways have got it. In Szob it was a condition of starting operation by the National Traffic Authority. Now the operator of the railway had to choose going to bankrupt or starting operation illegaly. They choose the second option.
We hope the fee of the safety certification will be decreased and all of the Hungarian narrow gauge railways would get it.
Now trains run from Friday to Sunday four times daily.
